About
Objective
Half•Alive’s album Conditions of a Punk occupies a unique space within indie pop and alternative rock, blending emotionally deep lyrics with gritty, dynamic sounds. Thus, the design language surrounding it must be equally layered and hardy. I accomplished this challenge by reflecting the album’s grungy, raw “punk” essence through type-centric visuals that capture its depth and intensity. This aesthetic was then extended to a series of posters for the band’s world tour, using a combination of digital and physical mediums to create layered, textured artwork that stands out in a world of clean, precise designs.
Project Details
This project involved a beautiful mixing of physical and digital design. All of the typographic elements were hand-sketched, and then digitized, modified, and composited. Once the album cover was created, it was then taken and transformed into a set of posters.
